Christmas Comes Early to the Centre

Knowsley’s User Led Organisation (KULO) will be hosting Christmas themed Eco Creative Craft Workshops at Knowsley’s Centre for Independent Living in the lead up to this year’s festive break, 2018.

As part of the disability community groups weekly Really Useful Wednesday sessions (10 -12pm), the group will be working with Gordon from Knowsley Council’s Ranger Service to create a series of eco friendly and locally sourced Christmas Decorations.

After a recent visit to Stadt Moers Countryside Park in Whiston, KULO group members foraged and harvested locally source materials including an Ash tree to be used as part of their accessible weekly sessions.

One KULO group member commented “It was a bit chilly, but good fun to get out and about in the park and work with the local ranger. We then went back to the environmental centre and we warmed up straight away because we all had a go and cut the wood up with a bow saw. I’m looking forward to seeing what we’ll make over the next few weeks now”.

If you would like to take part in KULO’s Festive Really Useful Wednesday sessions they will take place here, at Knowsley’s Centre for Independent Living on Wednesday 28 November, 5 & 12 December 10 – 12pm. No need to book, but get in touch with Support Worker Nancie Price hello@kulo.org.uk if you have any support or access requirements to enable you to fully take part.

KULO welcomes local people with disabilities as well as those caring for someone with a disability.
